Automatically populate the formula field when a resource is applied
The automatic formula field in the resource explorer, allows you to automatically populate the formula field of a cost estimate wherever that resource is used.
Here’s a simple example. Wherever the foreman or project manager resources are used, #qty will automatically populate the formula column.
Notice how this will not overwrite a formula if one is already present. Here’s a more complex example for a 2.4-meter length of concrete pipe.
This takes the scheduled quantity, divides it by 2.4 to calculate the number of length required.
Then rounds the number of length up to the nearest whole number.
Note: This will only be applied if the option within the Cost Estimate section of the Options window is ticked.
