Conflict Resolution Default Options in Expert Estimation

The Conflict Resolution section of the Options window provides you with the ability to preset the default option for each of the possible Conflicts that may require resolving while copying and pasting / moving data between projects.

DECISION DEFAULTS

The Decision Defaults section allows you to customise the resolution method that will be selected by default for each of the various conflicts that can occur within the application.

• Quantity Change – When the Quantity of the source item differs to that of the destination item and there are Cost Estimate lines in the source information that could be affected by the change.
• Cost Estimate Mode – When the Cost Estimate mode of the source item differs to that of the destination item.
• Cost Estimate Mode – When the Cost Estimate mode of the source item differs to that of the destination item.
• Paste Resources – Where pasted Resources have the same name and differing property values to Resources that already exist in the current project.
• Update Resources – When using the Update Resources option within the Resource Explorer and there are properties in the selected project that are different from your current project.
• Resource Question Defines – Pasting/Cloning a Group Resource that contains Question Defines.
• Schedule Question Defines – Pasting a Schedule Item or Schedule Item Cost Estimate that contains Question Defines.
• Currencies – When importing data from another project using a currency with different conversion factors than your current project.
• Resource Calculation Templates – Upon importing a Resource linked to a Resource Calculation template that has the same name as a pre-existing Resource Calculation Template with any differences.
• Global Defines – When importing data from another project containing / referencing a Global Define that is also in the current project with a different value / description.
• Take Off Sets – When importing data from another project containing / referencing a Take Off Define that is also in the current project with a different value / description.
• Matrix Cost Estimate Templates – Pasting data from another project containing a reference to Matrix Cost Estimate Template that is also in the current project with different values.
• Matrix Defines – When importing data from another project containing / referencing a Matrix Define that is also in the current project with a different value / description.
• Append or Replace – Using the Paste Cost Estimate feature on a line / resource that already has Cost Estimate content.
• Code Allocations – When pasting any lines / resources that currently have a Cost Code allocation.

Note: Enabling the “Don’t show Conflict Resolution window if all conflicts have defined default actions” option will automatically process the conflict resolution using the pre-selected options.
