Brilliant! Now you know how to ensure you web browser isn’t loading old data so you are looking at fresh content.

But what about the brain behind the eyes that are looking…?

Let me explain. Several weeks ago we had R U OK? Day and talked about the importance of talking and listening actively to those around you.

But have you thought about how you can apply that to yourself? Have you cleared out old trauma and resentments that are still causing issues in your life?

I don’t mean ignoring it. That’s the equivalent of caching data that will keep reloading even though you think you’re in a new situation. Unfortunately, clearing your mental cache isn’t as simple as your web browser.

First you need to know what’s there. Consider accessing your company’s Employee Assistance Program to talk to someone. Then look at the people around you. How do you feel after spending time with them—energised or emotionally drained? Do their values align with yours?

Clearing your mental cache is a glib expression for a serious concept. And it’s important to not just leave it to RU OK? Day to think about it. What’s sitting in your internal brain browser history that could be examined to see if it’s worthwhile actually keeping?

And when you have fresh data, you have fresh possibilities.
