MAKE SURE YOU CAN UPDATE EXPERT ESTIMATION
If you can’t see an available update, ask why.
Whenever and update goes out, if you can’t see the update, it may be because you have a licence that is capped licence, or an expired trial licence, an unmaintained licence, or an invalid key.
How does this happen?
- A capped licence often happens in a company where multiple users need to stay on the same version of Expert Estimation. This is to maintain project fidelity and so compatibility issues don’t arise. Often a manager or IT are responsible for deciding the version that will be used, and when updates are to occur.
- An expired trial licence occurs when you downloaded the Product Selector and install Expert Estimation during your 30 day free trial. Upon purchasing a licence, we issue a new licence key and ask that you update it in both Expert Estimation AND the Product Selector, but the latter sometimes gets skipped over.
- An unmaintained licence means you’re not currently participating in the Support and Maintenance Program. This program gives you access to 24/7 phone support and software updates which are released periodically through the year.
- An invalid licence key occurs when someone in your company (often your IT or management) has authorised a licence key reset.
Okay, but what do I do?
The best thing to do in that instance, is call our 24/7 Support so we can get you sorted. Our Australian-based team will be able to quickly diagnose the issue and provide a solution.
This may involve:
- You contacting your manager or IT about access to the update.
- Input of your current licence key into your Product Selector.
- Renewing your support and maintenance.
- Requesting a new licence key via email.
Keeping your software up to date is important, as new features and program efficiencies are introduced. You can check out what has been updated in the Release Notes, and make sure you are on the list to be notified of updates.
