BRISBANE TO GLADSTONE RACE 2022 WIN
Pronamics sponsors record-breaking yacht
It was with great pride that Pronamics cheered on Skipper Scott Patrick and his crew as Wistari sailed last Friday 15 April. Breaking the record of most race starts, this was the 52nd time this historic boat had taken part in the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, and most likely the last time with Scott as skipper.
With over 80 races between them, the crew is exceptionally experienced. Swift sailing and tough conditions saw a well-deserved first place in PHRF overall and AMS overall, IRC Division 2 and Vintage & Veteran Division. They received second place in ORCI Division 1.
They also won the Noel Patrick Memorial Trophy—an honour named for Scott’s father, the builder and original skipper of Wistari.
Overcoming injuries, uncertain weather and the challenge of getting the team together for one last run, Scott and the crew pushed themselves and the boat to the limit and it paid off, proving that Wistari can do incredible things with the right people and right conditions.
